Lip Flip

Lip flips are all the rage these days. They are a non-surgical procedure that involves injecting a neuromodulator (generally Botox® or Dysport®) along the outer edge of your top lip. Our precisely placed neuromodulators allow the muscles to relax and “flip” the lip upward, giving the illusion of a larger upper lip.

A lip flip gives the illusion of larger lips by injecting neuromodulators into the edges of your lip, without adding any volume. Lip flips generally result in a more natural look that can last up to 6 weeks. Since there’s usually only 4-6 units being injected, this procedure is quicker than lip filler- which also means very minimal swelling and almost no downtime! It can take up to 2 weeks for you to see full results.

Lip filler adds volume to your lips by injecting dermal filler into different areas of the lip. Lip filler can be customized based on the desired look you’re going for! Your results will generally last between 6 to 9 months. You’ll be able to enjoy bigger lips immediately following the procedure, but you may experience up to 2 weeks of swelling and bruising.

What to Expect on Your First Visit
A consultation is done with your expert injector to discuss your desired outcome. Based on your budget and the look you’re going for, the injector will decide on the best treatment plan for you.
A lip flip is completed in less than a minute, using approximately 4-6 units of Botox® or Dysport®. Following the procedure, your injector will give you aftercare instructions and you’ll be on your way with your beautiful, enhanced lips!

No, but you may experience minimal swelling.

Ice is always your friend when it comes to injections! We recommend to not touch the area too much following a lip flip. Avoid make up on the area for at least 24 hours and avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours to minimize bruising.

As neuromodulators are used to relax your muscles, you may experience difficulty with drinking from a straw, not being able to use mouthwash, and a slight change in speech temporarily.

Yes! if you’re looking for a more dramatic look, you can add a lip flip after receiving lip filler- in the same appointment!
If you’re unsure of how much lip filler to get, you can always start with a smaller amount and get a lip flip in the same appointment. We say this because, as the swelling from the lip filler goes down, your lip flip will begin to show full results, so you’ll be able to assess your desired outcome!
