The cost of Botox® and Dysport® in Edmonton varies from $125 to $900; the final cost depends on the individual characteristics of the patient and how many units they require for their treatment. Typically, it costs around $10 per unit, and patients may need between 10 to 70 units.

Cost varies by treatment area and depends on how strong the muscles pull in each patient. For example, horizontal forehead lines may range from $60-$200, frown lines between the brows may range from $150-$400, and crow’s feet may range from $200-$400.

Botox® and Dysport® work by weakening the muscles into which it is injected. With limited to no movement, these relaxed muscles result in reduced wrinkles and lines.

Botox® and Dysport® kick in anywhere from 4-7 days after treatment. Individual results will vary and can last anywhere from 3-6 months.

Common short-term side effects include headaches, minor bruises, or swelling around the site of injection. Rare side-effects include a dropped brow and blurred vision.

You can enjoy Botox® and Dysport® as early as 18 years old! At EA, we assess each patient individually and will recommend the best treatment based on your unique attributes and goals. For some people, this may mean beginning as soon as your early 20s - especially if you’re prone to wrinkles and want to prevent them from occurring.

To ensure your safety, clients who wish to proceed with their first Botox® or Dysport® treatment must first complete a Patient Assessment. This is a quick and easy over-the-phone or in-person appointment with a medical professional. We'll take 5-10 minutes to go through your medical history (like allergies, for example!) and make sure you’re a good candidate for injections. Only required to be completed once every year, this ensures that you are safe to enjoy any of our injectable services!

At EA, we do not inject patients who are pregnant. This is because injectables have not been tested on pregnant patients (for ethical reasons) so there isn't sufficient medical evidence to support the safety of injectables during pregnancy. However, we'd be happy to have you visit once you are no longer pregnant or breastfeeding!

Nothing! If for any reason you choose to stop receiving Botox® or Dysport® treatments, there will be no negative effects. In fact, if Botox® or Dysport® was used for wrinkle prevention, you will see wrinkles may take longer to appear. However over time, without the use of Botox® or Dysport®, the wrinkles and lines will return and increase in number and depth.

Botox® and Dysport® itself are not painful. Any discomfort that may be experienced is associated with the needles used during the treatment. Everyone's threshold for these occurrences differs but typically, most clients experience little to no discomfort! This is because the needles we use are incredibly small, similar to those used for insulin.
